Jaina Patel - Human Resources Officer, Ocean Group

Jaina’s chose to pursue a career in Human Resources after developing a personal interest in employment law. After completing a Higher National Diploma in Human Resources at Thames Valley University she accepted the role of HR Manager with a contract cleaning company in London.

In May 2009 she joined Ocean as our dedicated Human Resources Officer and was able to put her knowledge of employer/employee relations to good use by overseeing new ways for Ocean to develop its staff.

She describes her view of Human Resources as “life is a long learning cycle, of which we are all part and you never stop learning even if it’s from one another.” 

Her daily responsibilities are ensuring TUPE regulations are adhered to, making sure CRB checks are carried out and that the company’s performance management inductions are completed.

During her time with Ocean Jaina’s rapid professional development has been noted and praised by the Company Directors, as has her ability to help others who require her guidance and support. She has also demonstrated the ability to grow her skills through attending training courses such as Hawksmere’s Effective HR Officer course and gaining a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management from her hometown university of Luton.

She enjoys a healthy relationship with the entire Ocean management team as they know they can rely on her assistance whenever required.
