The recruitment of Lloyd Andres to Ocean in 1999 was a major boost to the company as he brought with him 18 years of experience in the contract cleaning industry – 17 of which were gained in and around London.
His initial role was that of Operations Manager, with specific responsibility for contracts in the educational field. This involved Lloyd taking on a broad scope of responsibility, including the tailoring of each contract to client specifications. Each client has their own individual needs and Lloyd worked hard to make sure his team recognised this and were aware of how to meet a wide range of demands.
Despite already possessing a wealth of experience, Lloyd says he has been able to improve his management technique since joining Ocean. Shifting to a more directively democratic style has encouraged growth and pro-activity among his team.
This approach is one he continues to employ in his current role of Managing Director of Ocean Contract Cleaning Ltd London. Since assuming this position Lloyd has continually encouraged his team members to adopt a “can do” attitude to their work, with a focus on attention to detail and candour when dealing with customers.
Lloyd’s investment in his team has been reinforced through continuous monitoring and regular training, resulting in an increased retention rate among Cleaning Operatives.
